How to use Landing Pages

Today let’s discuss the use of Landing Pages and what their use is. First, these pages are called many different things, from minisites, optin pages, lead capture pages and of course landing pages.

This simply means the page on which your visitor lands first. You can have your visitors first stop be any page you wish. This could be your sales page, an article page, or a page where you capture their email address and name.

Putting a landing page isn’t easy if you know the steps. These steps aren’t hard either, you have to have a bit of knowledge on using an HTML editor and of course you need to know what type of landing page you wish to create.

As I stated there are a few different types, but don’t get hung up on what type you will use. It’s not that hard to figure out, just ask yourself these questions:

What do I want to accomplish with my site?

Do I want to capture a person’s email address and name?

Am I only going to provide information?

Or am I going to have a product or service I wish to sale?

Do I want graphics?

Where will my navigation bar be placed, at the left hand side or the right hand side or the top of the page?

If you can successfully answer most of these questions you are on your way to creating a good quality landing page. Do remember that content is King!! The more content you can provide the better your landing page will be with the search engines.

No matter if you are building a full blown website or a simple landing page, you Must optimize your pages properly for SEO.

You can find more about SEO and optimizing your pages by clicking on the HTML under the category list to the right.

I hope this article has helped you better understand landing pages and their uses and do leave your comments below.

How do you use Landing Page Templates

Just what are landing page templates and how does one use them? To many this is just an opt in page where you can collect someones name and email address. What most don’t realize is it has many names, landing page, minisite, squeeze page, optinpage, and etc…

They all do the same thing, just people rename as things change. But the basis is all the same a simple page that allows you to capture your visitors name and email address in return for a free report or ebook or something.

This will build your list of loyal subscribers which have given you permission to send them emails about your market. Please do not spam this list it is your livelyhood.

The people here actually want something for value and the more value and respect you show them, the more they will learn to trust and respect you. Then when you have a great product or service you hear about you can email them about it and earn nicely.

To use a landing page template is very easy. A template just means the site is basically done already for you, you just enter in your information. So a landing page template is the same thing, a template that already is set up and ready for you to enter your information and your auto responder code.

Some things to keep in mind when designing your landing page - keep it simple and to the point; highlight or bullet the benefits THEY get for signing up; make sure to have to call to action, the optin box above the fold; do not, I repeat do not use the standard submit button auto responders have, you can change what it says, you should type in something relavent to what they are opting in for. Example, Get Your Free Report, Subscribe Today, Get your Newsletter just don’t use the standard submit button.

Another thing to think about when using a landing page template, is you do not need any graphices on it, especially a header, this has been tested and proven that you can get more subscribers if you keep your landing page to simple white background and black lettering. Having a graphic of your product or service is fine and does help your visitor get a visual of what they are getting.

I hope this has helped you understand exactly what landing page templates are and how to best use them for your business.
