Oh the never ending problem of marketers is traffic.
There are tons and tons of ways to get traffic to any website or blog, the problem is most do not stick with just one way, they give up way too soon.
Article marketing is one of the best ways to get started. Write up a few articles about your niche or product, and submit to ezine directories. The best one out there is Ezinearticles.com and Goarticles.com. If you have problems writing articles about your niche, than maybe you should reconsider your niche. Sorry to be blunt, but you should be doing something you are passionate about and know a little about it. If not, you will fail!
Traffic exchanges can be good also, but they are mainly best when using a squeeze page as the landing page. Do not try to put up a sales page in your traffic exchanges they won't convert.
Twitter is another good resource to use to promote your site, just do it carefully do not spam there at all.
Forums are a great way to not only get traffic, but backlinks, and show you are an expert in your niche by answering others questions.
The number one thing to keep in mind here is, do ONE thing first, do not add to that until you are comfortable with it. This is where beginners get frustrated and overwhelmed, they expect results immediately, that just isn't going to happen, it takes time to build up good traffic and backlinks. So be consistent with your efforts, don't give up and DO NOT ever try to do more than one or two methods at a time.
